I was so excited to see everything revealed at The Game Awards 2025! They showed off a ton of new games, both from the big names like the new Tomb Raider: Legacy of Atlantis, and some really cool indie titles like Bradley the Badger. It looks like there’s going to be something for everyone!
Lots of new games are offering fresh stories and innovative ways to play, but one upcoming title, expected in 2026, will combine two well-loved game types within a familiar world.
The newly announced game, Decrepit, combines challenging, *Dark Soulsinspired combat – but played from a first-person view – with the frightening atmosphere of a horror game, all set in a medieval world.
What’s remarkable about Decrepit is that it was created solely by Olof Hagelin, a developer from Sweden at Jammerdal Games. It’s also the second game released by the publisher, Three Friends.
Decrepit’s Dungeon Nightmare
In the game Decrepit, you play as a nameless prisoner who awakens inside a ruined castle overrun with horrifying creatures—including zombies, guards, priests, and other monsters.
Okay, so escaping this castle is tough. You can only carry one staff, one weapon, and one piece of armor at a time. But here’s the kicker – it’s like Dark Souls or Bloodborne: every time you die, you wake up in a totally new cell, and you lose everything you were carrying. It’s super frustrating, but you gotta keep trying!
Decrepit was one of the first new games to be revealed during The Game Awards […]
In Decrepit, players can choose from four different ways to play: Mage, Warrior, Rogue, and Shaman. As you defeat enemies, they’ll drop equipment to help you progress through the ruined castle.

Exploring the castle will be tough because you won’t have maps or any guides, and powerful bosses will be blocking your path.
You can now add Decrepit to your wishlist on Steam. A playable demo will be available soon, and fans can sign up to try it out now.
