One Battle After Another Finally Sets Digital Release Date

Leonardo DiCaprio’s latest movie, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, is now available to rent or buy online after a successful run in theaters starting in late September. The film, where DiCaprio plays a man living outside of mainstream society, has been critically acclaimed, earning a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The dark comedy action thriller, One Battle After Another, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Teyana Taylor, Sean Penn, Benicio Del Toro, Regina Hall, and Chase Infiniti, will be available digitally on November 20, 2025. Physical copies, including 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray editions, will follow in January 2026. The film is inspired by Thomas Pynchon’s 1990 novel, Vineland, and was written and directed by Anderson.

I just saw this movie, and it’s intense! It’s about Bob, played by DiCaprio, who used to be a big revolutionary but now lives a pretty isolated life, basically off the grid, with his awesome daughter, Willa. They’ve built a life for themselves, but everything gets turned upside down when an old enemy of Bob’s shows up after sixteen years, and Willa goes missing. It’s a really gripping story about a father desperately searching for his daughter, and how both of them are dealing with the fallout from Bob’s past choices. It’s a wild ride!

The Film Received Praise from 2 Superstars

After a preview of One Battle After Another, Steven Spielberg was highly impressed. He exclaimed it was an “insane movie,” praising its relentless action – claiming the first hour contained more action than all of the films he’d ever directed combined. He described it as an incredible and bizarrely relevant concoction, suggesting its themes were becoming even more relevant than when the film was initially conceived and made.

I was catching The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon when Taylor Swift dropped some thoughts on the Killers of the Flower Moon Oscar race, and it’s fascinating. She’s predicting a potential split between Chase Infiniti and Teyana Taylor – talk about a tough competition! She had nothing but praise for del Toro and DiCaprio, calling both hilarious. But honestly, what really struck me was her reverence for Paul Thomas Anderson. She seems completely in awe of him – the fact that he writes, directs, and just exists on this incredible artistic level is, as she put it, amazing to witness. It’s clear she’s a huge fan, and it’s infectious!

The movie cost between $130 and $170 million to make, but even with positive reviews, it’s projected to cost Warner Bros. about $100 million. To simply cover its costs, the film would need to earn around $300 million at the box office.
