BNB Chain Hacker Goes Phishing – Hook, Line, and Sinker! 🎣
On Oct. 1, CZ (aka the Crypto Whisperer) took to X to spill the tea about the attack. Apparently, the hacker went full-on phishing expedition, posting links that screamed “Connect Your Wallet!” like a desperate Tinder date. 🚨 Spoiler alert: It was a trap! 🕳️
CZ, being the crypto dad he is, had already warned his followers: “Don’t click those links, kids!” 🛑 Meanwhile, the BNB Chain team was backstage, furiously investigating like detectives in a blockchain thriller. 🕵️♂️
ALERT 🚨: The @BNBCHAIN X account is compromised. (Shocker, right? 🤷♂️)
The hacker posted a bunch of links to phishing websites that ask for Wallet Connect. (Classic rookie move. 😒)
Do NOT connect your wallet. (Unless you’re into losing money. 💸🔥)
Security teams have notified X already, working to suspend the account first, then restore access. (Because priorities, people! 🛠️)

Moral of the story? If it looks too good to be true, it probably is. (Unless it’s free guac. That’s always worth the risk. 🥑)
To contain the chaos, the BNB Chain team called in the big guns at X to suspend the account. Because, you know, safety first! (Unless you’re a hacker. Then it’s chaos first. 🤪)
Fast forward to now, and CZ’s got good news: the account is restored! 🎉 And guess what? Victims will be compensated in full. (Take that, hacker! 💪)
X account restored. Hacker got $13k. (Rookie numbers, honestly. 🤦♂️)
Security team(s) still tracking, with a possible linked KYC. Hacker went through all this trouble, plus criminal liability. He could have made more by building. (Or, you know, getting a job. 💼)

BNB Chain’s Shining Moment – Until It Wasn’t ✨
The hacker clearly didn’t get the memo that BNB Chain was having a moment. The Maxwell hard fork just slashed block times by 50% (from 1.5 seconds to 0.8 seconds – impressive, right? ⏱️) And Franklin Templeton’s $1.6 trillion asset manager jumped on the BNB Chain bandwagon with its BENJI Fund. (Because who doesn’t love a good bandwagon? 🎪)
Oh, and let’s not forget BNB’s price surge! From $800 to $1,011 – that’s a 16.75% jump in 30 days. (Take that, haters! 🚀)
But, of course, the hack had to rain on the parade. BNB is currently down 0.81%. (Thanks a lot, hacker. 🙄)
