In Octopath Traveler II, you’ll meet many characters you can invite to help rebuild the town of Wishvale. Most of them will ask for a specific food item as a gift before joining, and you can usually find these ingredients by using Path Actions in the game’s towns. However, making River Bean Patties might be a little tricky, so be prepared!
Two characters need River Bean Patties: Pleasant Goldsmith, an NPC in Victors Hollow, needs them to become a friend, and Carinda, a traveler you can play as, needs them to complete quests in Wishvale.
If you’re looking at this, you might be wondering where a certain recipe is – maybe you thought you’d collected it already with the town’s Recipe Books? The likely answer is that you simply missed it. Don’t worry, though! You can still find it if you know where to search.
Octopath Traveler 0 – River Bean Patty Recipe Location

You can find the recipe for the River Bean Patty by checking your in-game Journal. Go to the ‘Party Chat’ section, then ‘Bonds of Fellowship’, and finally ‘New Companions’. This is a conversation with El the Swordsman that unlocks during Chapter 3 of the ‘Master of All’ storyline. Don’t worry if you missed it while playing the story – the chat will still be available in your Journal, so you can’t permanently miss the recipe! Just read the chat to get it. El really loves his River Beans, apparently!
You can also get the Berry Pie recipe by talking to the friendly server at the Cragspears Tavern. This recipe isn’t available in town recipe books or through the main story.
