NYSNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick has signed more autographs as Fairly Odd Parents’ Chip Skylark than his own name

NSYNC’s Chris Kirkpatrick jokes that he gets asked for more autographs as Chip Skylark, his cartoon character from The Fairly Odd Parents, than he does for his own name.

Many older millennials remember Justin Kirkpatrick as a member of NSYNC, the popular boy band he helped create and performed with in the late 90s and early 2000s.

Many younger millennials and older members of Gen Z probably know him best as Chip Skylark, the cartoon pop star from Nickelodeon’s ‘Fairly Odd Parents’.

Songs like ‘My Shiny Teeth and Me’ and ‘Icky Vicky’ are still incredibly catchy, and many people automatically associate them with the band Skylark – some even forget about NSYNC!

It’s official: Chip Skylark is more famous than NSNYC

He shared a funny story during a conversation with Butch Hartman, the creator of The Fairly Odd Parents. He remembered visiting his old middle school in Ohio to speak to students about his career path.

During the event, Kirkpatrick noted that the children were much more excited about his voice acting than anything else, saying their reaction was incredibly enthusiastic.

He described children as being prone to outbursts – yelling, throwing things, and even spitting, imitating the sound with a playful ‘Chip, Chip!’ to Hartman.

He admitted he actually signed more autographs as his Rocket Power character, Chip Skylark, than as himself in NSYNC. He remembered kids coming up with drawings of Chip, and being surprised, thinking, ‘I have no idea how Chip would sign his name!’

Hartman praised Kirkpatrick for making ‘My Shiny Teeth and Me’ so memorable, noting that Kirkpatrick’s performance was so powerful it’s become a classic part of American culture.
