NVIDIA 5070 Ti GPU has been “killed off” due to supply shortage: Report

NVIDIA has stopped making the GeForce RTX 5070 Ti graphics card. ASUS has confirmed that the card is no longer in production, meaning it’s been discontinued.

ASUS told Hardware Unboxed that NVIDIA is intentionally limiting the supply of the RTX 5070 Ti, making it difficult for companies like ASUS to get enough cards in stock.

ASUS, a major partner that makes graphics cards for NVIDIA, has confirmed that NVIDIA has stopped producing the card and is discontinuing it.

NVIDIA GPU Moved to “end-of-life”

Because there are very few RTX 5070 Ti graphics cards available, prices have gone up significantly in many areas, leading people to wonder if the card will ever be widely available again.

ASUS indicates that the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti with 16GB of memory may face similar issues. It appears production is being focused on the 8GB version instead.

The 16GB version of this product is becoming harder to find, as stores and suppliers are running low on stock and prices are starting to increase. This is likely due to problems with the supply of memory chips.

ASUS reports that the ongoing shortage of DRAM is now impacting GDDR7 graphics memory too. As a result, NVIDIA will likely keep focusing on producing GPUs with less memory for now. It’s believed the RTX 5060 will be NVIDIA’s primary graphics card in this class.

The company confirmed that rumors of an updated RTX 50-series SUPER graphics card aren’t true, at least for now. While they initially intended to release it around the time of the CES tech show, those plans have been cancelled.

I’m hearing the new graphics cards are being pushed back, and it seems like it’s because they’re waiting on the new GDDR7 memory. Apparently, the companies that make the cards are pretty annoyed about this sudden delay, which is a bummer for all of us fans!
