The Irish saying goes, “There are vessels that sail upon the sea, but the most valuable are friendships, and may they forever endure.” However, Tim Robinson, creator of the show “I Think You Should Leave,” knows from experience that friendships don’t always last, and it’s a painful reality. The trailer for his upcoming film titled “Friendship” was released on February 11, promising a tale that could leave you teary-eyed, if not for the humor that Robinson brings to the table. In this movie, Tim plays Craig, who forms an unexpected bond with Brian (Paul Rudd), only for Brian to announce he wants to end their friendship. Like many of Robinson’s projects, the plot revolves around a seemingly absurd premise, yet it touches upon the apprehensions that resonate within socially awkward adults.

In addition to Kate Mara portraying Craig’s spouse Tami, the film was helmed by Andrew DeYoung (of “Would It Kill You to Laugh?”) in both writing and directing. This intriguing production made its premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival during the Midnight timeframe, securing U.S. distribution through A24. Mark your calendars for a theater visit this May, as we strongly recommend catching this movie this spring!
