As an ardent follower of the esports scene, I was stunned to learn that one of our industry’s team owners, who had previously dedicated his time coaching young basketball players, is currently in custody, facing allegations of inappropriate conduct towards minors. The news has left many in the community feeling shocked and disheartened.
On February 7, 2025, the Southlake Police Department in Southlake, Texas, announced the arrest of 28-year-old Mitchell Joseph Allan on accusations of improper sexual conduct involving a minor, specifically two counts.
On February 1, he was taken into custody by the Elm Ridge Police Department based on outstanding warrants, and then was admitted to the Denton County Jail.
It has been reported that the owner of NorCal Esports, Allan, allegedly engaged in abusive behavior during his tenure as a coach for a private basketball program.
In light of the delicate subject matter and the young age of those affected, Southlake Police chose not to disclose further information. However, they urged parents whose children might have interacted with Allan to step forward.
NorCal members and fans speak out
Based on updates circulating on social media, several contributors linked to NorCal have either chosen to leave their positions within the organization or expressed bewilderment over the current circumstances.
Former NorCal content creator Natt said they were “disgusted” at the situation.
A couple years ago, I was commonly recognized as “NorCal Natt”. This name represented a team I was associated with during my initial Content Creation phase. To those in the know, I feel deeply disturbed by the recent turn of events and the so-called friend who deceived me. I apologize to anyone impacted by his actions.

As a dedicated fan, I can’t help but share my take on a recent development – it seems like streamer Bagel didn’t express much surprise when word got out that Mitch was allegedly pressing a minor for a face reveal and inviting young content creators to socialize with the team.
It’s surprising that some people are expressing shock over this incident, given that he himself was actively seeking a “face reveal” from a child and even utilized the term “norcal” to transport children and spend time with them as if they were close friends.

As a streamer, I, Kelvin, didn’t feel the necessity to elaborate but decided to bid farewell to NorCal Esports.
No need to explain. Left @NorCal_Esports
I’m shocked and disgusted beyond belief…

They haven’t issued an official statement yet, but they’ve changed their Twitter bio to just “The End” and halted their ongoing job recruitment process.
On the NorCal site, there’s been no recent news. The aim from the beginning has always been to create a space for gaming enthusiasts to hone their abilities and promote uplifting ideas.
They are also partnered with peripheral company HyperX and energy drink brand G Fuel.
