It’s incredibly annoying to unexpectedly die in games, particularly competitive ones, and some Battlefield 6 players recently experienced this with a strange bug. Fortunately, EA DICE has already identified and is working on fixing the issue.
Broken knees
There’s a strange bug in the game where your character can suddenly die while simply trying to jump. It’s not due to enemy fire or explosions, just the act of jumping itself. YouTuber Dynamic shared a video example of this on X, which you can see below.
A designer for Battlefield 6, Florian Le Bihan, noticed the video and confirmed it was a glitch. He explained what caused the issue and said the team is working to fix it quickly.
This problem occurs when you die from a long fall, are brought back to life, and then jump again. We’ve identified the cause and are working on a fix.
Several players have reported experiencing the same problem during gameplay, with some encountering it more than ten times. There’s been speculation that it might be intentional, a joke suggesting EA DICE deliberately included it to hinder faster players. However, this has been officially denied by Le Bihan.
Nah, we don’t break knees on purpose.
These minor glitches likely won’t ruin the game experience, but EA DICE should address them quickly. Battlefield 6 is already the second lowest-rated game in the series on Steam, and any further problems could lead to more negative feedback from players.
