Nippon Ichi Software announced that Curse Warrior will be available in Japan on March 26, 2026, for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 5, and digitally for PlayStation 4.
Nippon Ichi first hinted at this game, originally called ‘Curse,’ during a presentation in March 2025. Though they initially planned to release it sometime in 2025, the game will now launch a year later.
Okay, so basically, in this game, you start by putting together a team of adventurers to dive into dungeons. Combat happens through turn-based commands – you take turns making moves. You can pick up quests before heading in, but the cool thing is you have to actually complete those quests, not just wipe out everything in sight, if you want to earn experience and rewards. It’s about strategy, not just brute force!

As we hinted before, Curses are a central part of the game. Characters can gain Curses from things like dungeon traps or enemy attacks, which will fill their Curse Gauge. While Curses can have harmful effects, they also offer powerful benefits. Luckily, you can remove these negative effects at the Rainbow Eyes facility in town.
Removing a Curse not only helps the afflicted character, but also earns points to upgrade city facilities. Keep in mind that the character undergoing purification will need a significant period of isolation, so it’s important to have backup team members ready.

Curses that share common traits can combine to create a stronger, more potent Curse. But players need to watch the Curse Gauge carefully – if it fills to 300% for any character, that character will instantly die from the curse’s power.

Currently, the game features 8 character classes, which are grouped into 4 main types, each with 2 variations. When you hire characters at the Wolf Moon Tavern, you’ll be able to tell them apart by the different colors of their hair, eyes, and other features, even if they share the same class.
Our translations for the Archetypes’ descriptions are as follows:
