Okay, so it’s early 2026 and Nintendo just dropped their look back at 2025! They’ve released their usual year-end summary, but it’s a little weird – it came out in January instead of December like it normally does. They haven’t said why they delayed it, but it’s cool to finally see what they’ve been up to!
Okay, so Nintendo skipped their usual year-end summaries, which was a little weird. But the good news is their 2025 wrap-up will include how much I played in December! That means all those hours I sunk into Metroid Prime 4: Beyond might actually show up on my list of most-played games, which is awesome.
I just got my personalized year-end wrap-up, and it’s so cool! It tells me exactly how many games I played on both my Switch and Switch 2, and how many total hours I’ve sunk in. It even breaks it down month by month, and shows me what kinds of games I played the most. The best part? I got to pick my favorite game of the year and share a really neat graphic about my gaming stats. Plus, they’re giving away a free 2026 calendar you can print out, which is awesome!

For those interested in a deeper dive, Nintendo’s website has Switch data stretching back to the console’s release in 2017. If you scroll to the very bottom of the page, you can find and download a video showing all of this information.
Nintendo had a fantastic 2025, largely thanks to the successful launch of the Switch 2 in June. Popular first-party titles like Mario Kart World, Donkey Kong Bananza, Kirby Air Riders, and Pokemon Legends: Z-A quickly became bestsellers. The Switch 2 also benefited from a strong lineup of indie games, including Hollow Knight: Silksong and Hades 2, as well as established third-party titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Star Wars Outlaws.
Next year, players with the new Switch 2 may be able to revisit the popular game Animal Crossing: New Horizons with an affordable update. Nintendo also has several other games on the way, such as Mario Tennis Fever, The Duskbloods, and Yoshi and the Mysterious Book. Plus, there will be new games from other companies, including Resident Evil Requiem and 007 First Light.
