Nina Lin sparks backlash after allegedly stealing from Target live on Twitch

Twitch streamer Nina Lin is facing criticism after viewers accused her of shoplifting from a Target store while live on stream.

A video of influencer Nina at a Target self-checkout became popular on social media on November 30th.

During her checkout, the streamer referred to the prices as “GGs” and complained they were too high. Viewers then claimed Nina had scanned a stick of butter as part of someone else’s order before placing it in her bag.

“She didn’t scan the steak,” one user in her chat commented.

“She’s scanning the butter, not the meat,” remarked another.

Lin jokingly admitted she couldn’t afford what she was showing, telling her audience, “we’re too broke for this!” and then asked them to support her channel by subscribing.

Videos showing the suspected theft are spreading rapidly online, and many people are now asking for her account to be suspended.

Twitch users demand Nina Lin be banned for alleged Target theft

On platforms like X and others, users have been publicly calling on Twitch Support and CEO Dan Clancy to address concerns regarding Nina Lin.

I’m concerned that a user who previously committed sexual assault while live streaming on Twitch has been unbanned and is now promoting shoplifting. I’m questioning Twitch and its support team (@Twitch @TwitchSupport) about this, specifically asking if this aligns with their values. It’s troubling to see this behavior and a lack of consistent enforcement, especially considering other problematic content allowed on the platform. I’m addressing this to @djclancy999 hoping for a response.

YouTuber MadamSavvy recently pointed out that a streamer previously banned for sexual assault is now back on Twitch and openly encouraging shoplifting. She directly questioned Twitch CEO Dan Clancy about whether this aligns with the platform’s values.

Savvy was talking about some troubling videos showing Nina touching Disguised Toast and FaZe Silky’s assistant, Said, without their permission.

Felix, known online as xQc, also reacted to the situation, saying he doubted Nina’s claim she hadn’t stolen from Target, based on how she’d spoken about it earlier.

xQc recently addressed the controversy surrounding Nina Lin, pointing out the inconsistency in her explanation about scanning items. He highlighted that she claimed ‘gg’ meant expensive, but then didn’t scan the items, which he found illogical. He explained he’s a careful thinker who notices details others miss, and he was able to expose this flaw in her reasoning.

Legal Mindset, a lawyer known for her YouTube videos, pointed out that proving deliberate action would be challenging. The steak could easily have been scanned unintentionally.

“But I do hope she went back and paid for it after being informed by her chat,” he added.

So far, Nina hasn’t been banned from Twitch or commented on the alleged theft.
