Nina Lin apologizes for “uncomfortable” clips with Disguised Toast and others

Streamer Nina Lin has issued an apology to Disguised Toast and others, such as FaZe Silky’s assistant Said, after old, awkward video clips of their interactions began circulating online.

In late October, Nina Lin faced criticism after an old video showed her and Zoe Spencer acting disrespectfully towards FaZe Silky’s assistant, Said. The video began circulating online, causing a backlash.

Both Lin and Spencer received bans from Twitch. However, Lin faced additional attention when old clips of her interacting with Disguised Toast resurfaced and were widely discussed.

So, those bans got lifted on October 27th, and honestly, a lot of other creators were pretty upset about it. I saw Said, who was in one of the clips, say it was “unreal” they were unbanned. Lin, who was also involved, already apologized for what happened, and now she’s put out a second apology. It’s been a whole thing!

I deeply regret my actions and words and take full responsibility for them. While I won’t try to excuse what I did, I want to share my side of the story because many videos online are misrepresenting the situation and spreading inaccurate information, she explained in a series of Instagram stories.

I really feel like my comments about Said didn’t come across right, and I’m sorry I didn’t word things better. What I really want everyone to know is that it’s never shameful to be hurt or to talk about what happened – ever. It’s important to speak up.

Lin stated she had apologized to Said. She explained that allowing the situation to escalate to the point of making him uncomfortable was unacceptable and not her intention. She took full responsibility, saying she should have stopped the segment and been more aware of how things were being received.

Nina Lin has released a statement following her second ban from Twitch. She expressed her apologies, explaining that some of her actions and words were misinterpreted. She also stated she has sincerely apologized to both Said and Toast, acknowledging that her comments regarding the situation with Said were unacceptable and not defensible.

The streamer admitted to being “out of line” in relation to her interaction with Disguised Toast. 

I was so focused on making content that I didn’t realize I was pushing things too far and making someone uncomfortable, and I really regret that,” Nina explained. “I’ve already apologized to Toast for what I did and how I acted.

“My intentions were never to harm Toast or catch him off guard, and for that I am deeply sorry.”
