‘Nightbitch’ Trailer: Amy Adams Eats Dog Food and Transforms Into a Canine in Comedy Horror

As a longtime admirer of Amy Adams and her exceptional talent, I am thrilled to see her return to the big screen with such an intriguing role in “Nightbitch.” The blend of horror and comedy is always a delight, and the idea of a stay-at-home mom transforming into a canine form adds an unexpected twist that has me intrigued.

The company Searchlight Pictures has unveiled the trailer for the upcoming horror-comedy movie titled “Nightbitch,” which features actress Amy Adams and is adapted from the 2021 novel of the same name by Rachel Yoder.

In the synopsis of “Nightbitch,” a former artist who is now a stay-at-home mom embarks on a fresh phase of life as her ordinary nighttime rituals undergo a bizarre transformation, and her motherly instincts start to morph into something canine-like.

Adams heads up the main actors, accompanied by Scoot MacNairy, Mary Holland, Jessica Harper, Zoë Chao, Ella Thomas, Stacey Swift, Archana Rajan, Adrienne Rose White, Darius De La Cruiz, and Roslyn Gentle.

Initially planned for a direct streaming debut on Hulu, the movie was eventually released in cinemas nationwide by Searchlight Pictures.

It’s been nearly three years since Adams last appeared on the big screen, with his most recent role being in Disney’s “Disenchanted,” which debuted directly on Disney+ in 2022. Nevertheless, this award-winning actor has several other feature films in development that are slated for release in the near future. These include “At the Sea” directed by Kornél Mundruczó, a project titled “The Invite” alongside Paul Rudd, and “Klara and the Sun” featuring Jenna Ortega.

Marielle Heller takes on both the director’s role and co-writing duties for the script, while Adams, Heller, Anne Carey, Sue Naegle, Stacy O’Neil, and Christina Oh serve as producers. The executive producers include Yoder, Allison Rose Carter, Megan Ellison, Adam Paulsen, and Sammy Scher. The production companies involved are Annapurna Pictures, Archer Gray, Bond Group Entertainment, and Defiant By Nature.

“Nightbitch” comes to theaters Dec. 6. Watch the trailer below.
