Good news for anime lovers: Neon Genesis Evangelion is coming back after a long break! This time, though, Hideaki Anno won’t be the director.
Yoko Taro, the creator of the NieR series, will be leading the writing for this project.
Yoko Taro All Set to Write the New Evangelion Series

Fans recently celebrated the 30th anniversary of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and a special event held some exciting news: a new Evangelion series is in the works! Even more surprising, the series will be written by the acclaimed Yoko Taro.
Taro, the creative mind behind the mysterious moon-masked persona, is a celebrated game developer known for crafting deeply unsettling and thought-provoking narratives. This is why his games, like Drakengard, NieR, and NieR: Automata, have become beloved classics that many consider essential playing experiences. With the recent announcement that he’s writing the new Evangelion series, fans can be confident the project is in capable hands.
Taro isn’t the only well-known creator involved in this project. Keiichi Okabe, the composer behind the music for the NieR games, is also confirmed to be creating the soundtrack. Plus, Toko Yatabe, famous for his work on Chainsaw Man, and Kazuya Tsurumaki, who worked on Rebuild of Evangelion, are joining as directors.
We don’t yet know what to expect from this new Neon Genesis Evangelion series. It’s unclear if it will be a spin-off, a sequel, or a completely original story. Fans are eager for more information, and we’re hoping Taro and his team reveal details soon.
Square Enix Teases NieR: Automata Sequel

Good news for fans of NieR: Automata! Square Enix recently celebrated the game’s ninth anniversary by announcing it has sold over 10 million copies. This is a huge success, especially considering the series wasn’t widely known when it first started.
But the real surprise came at the very end of the video, with the announcement that NieR: Automata will have a sequel.
Before today’s news, most people didn’t expect another NieR game. Yoko Taro recently mentioned that some of his projects had been cancelled, which made the hint of a sequel even more unexpected and exciting for fans.
What will the new Nier: Automata game be like? That’s still a mystery. It could continue the story of the original game, or it could be a completely new adventure. Hopefully, we’ll find out more details soon.
