At CCXP25, the first scene from the upcoming Spider-Noir series was shown, introducing Nicolas Cage as Spider-Man. The preview gave fans a first look at the character’s intense introduction, establishing the atmosphere for the live-action show which takes place in 1930s New York.
Spider-Noir series’ first scene description revealed
During the Prime Video panel at CCXP25, Omelete shared details about the first scene from Spider-Noir. The scene opens with a shot of a criminal wearing a beret. Then, Spider-Noir appears, with his eyes glowing brightly – a look that stays true to the comics and the Spider-Verse movie!
Spider-Noir is a new live-action series set in 1930s New York. Nicolas Cage stars as Ben Reilly, a former superhero now working as a struggling private investigator. The show follows Reilly as he’s forced to confront his past.
The new show will first launch on MGM+ in the United States, and Prime Video will stream it internationally. It’s scheduled to arrive in 2026 with eight episodes. Filming has wrapped up in Los Angeles, and the series is now being edited and finished.
Spider-Noir first appeared in Marvel Comics in 2009, created by David Hine and Fabrice Sapolsky. Interestingly, the character is portrayed by Nicolas Cage as Ben Reilly, not Peter Parker, a detail confirmed by a sign on the detective agency set at CCXP that read “B. Reilly.”
The show stars Brendan Gleeson, Jack Huston, Lamorne Morris, Li Jun Li, Lukas Haas, Cameron Britton, Craig Henningsan, Whitney Rice, and Abraham Popoola. Karen Rodriguez, Amanda Schull, Scoot MacArthur, Michael Kostroff, Joe Massingill, and Cary Christopher appear in recurring roles.
Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, and Amy Pascal are executive producers on the series. Oren Uziel, known for ‘The Lost City,’ and Steve Lightfoot, who worked on ‘The Punisher,’ are the showrunners. Harry Bradbeer is directing.
