Niantic Has Announced A Multi-Year Pokemon Go And MLB Partnership in North America

Niantic unveiled a long-term agreement between Pokemon Go and Major League Baseball (MLB), which will feature unique Pokemon Go events at certain baseball stadiums in North America. Starting on the opening day of the 2025 baseball season, March 27, 2025, marks the start of the initial phase of this partnership between Pokemon Go and MLB.

As a devoted fan, I’m thrilled to announce our collaboration with MLB! This partnership is set to amplify the joy and interaction of playing Pokémon Go, making stadiums nationwide even more exciting. In a statement, Sarah Gilarsky, head of business development for Pokémon Go, expressed her enthusiasm, stating that this one-of-a-kind fusion of digital Pokémon Go gameplay with the tangible experience of watching baseball together at an MLB ballpark offers a fantastic opportunity for friends and families to bond over their shared passions for Pokémon and America’s favorite pastime.

Starting from the opening day, Pokémon Go players can expect MLB-themed PokeStops at every ballpark, complete with unique gym locations and designated Pokemon Go routes linking significant spots within the park. Throughout the season, numerous MLB teams will organize Pokemon Go nights, offering exclusive time-limited research tasks, in-game cosmetics, and exchangeable stadium backdrops for Pikachu. Niantic has announced that Pikachu will make appearances at predetermined points during the evening’s game.
