New Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 trailer details the Lasombra vampire clan

The newest trailer for Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 reveals the Lasombra, one of the five vampire clans players can choose to play as.

Initially, the Lasombra clan wasn’t planned to be in the original release of *Bloodlines 2*, unlike the Brujah, Banu Haqim, Tremere, and Ventrue. However, after listening to player feedback, Paradox Interactive decided to add both the Lasombra and Toreador clans to the base game. This means players will be able to choose from six clans when the game launches instead of just four.

Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 Lasombra Trailer

The trailer quickly reveals, through Fabian’s narration, that the Lasombra vampires aren’t fully accepted within Seattle’s Camarilla society. Previously, when the player character, Phyre, was last conscious, the Lasombra were enemies of the Camarilla and key members of the Sabbat – a group aiming for open vampire domination. However, many Lasombra have since switched sides to the Camarilla, and the game will likely explain why. Onda, who trains Lasombra, clearly dislikes Phyre’s arrival, viewing them as an unwanted and arrogant outsider who doesn’t understand the current situation in Seattle or the vampire world.

The trailer highlights Phyre’s vampiric powers, which are connected to the Lasombra clan. These powers, fittingly nicknamed “Shadows,” allow Phyre to control shadows to restrain opponents, teleport by stepping into their shadows, and even imprison them in a shadowy dimension.

  • “Arms of Ahriman”: Trap the opponent in a straight line with your shadow.
  • “Shadow Step”: Step into your shadow and emerge from the shadow of your target.
  • “Glimpse of Oblivion”: Causes an individual to become afraid, fleeing from their allies.
  • “Enter Oblivion”: Enter a dimension where only you and those touched by your shadow exist.
  • “Stygian Shroud” – Clan Perk: Prevents mortals from attacking you while feeding.

Because the Lasombra vampires have surprisingly strong connections to organized religion, especially Christian churches, a Lasombra player character will be able to obtain a priest’s outfit. Wearing this outfit will open up special dialogue options and interactions with characters in the game.

The highly anticipated game, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, will be released on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on October 21, 2025.
