Poncle Games, the creators of the popular game Vampire Survivors, just revealed their next title: Vampire Crawlers. This new game takes place in the same universe as Survivors but offers a different style of gameplay. Instead of a ‘bullet heaven,’ Crawlers is a deckbuilding dungeon-crawler with elements of roguelites, meaning it features randomized levels and permanent upgrades. It’s expected to be released next year.
Vampire Crawlers, revealed at November’s Xbox Showcase, takes the core idea of ‘Survivors’-like games and adds a lot more strategy. It does this through deckbuilding – collecting and customizing cards – while keeping the same fast-paced, chaotic action and similar graphics. The game also features a central village where you manage your characters and a new 2.5D visual style.
In Crawler, you’ll create powerful, unconventional decks, revisit classic dungeons with a fresh take, and discover devastating combo attacks, according to Poncle. You can choose to play strategically at your own pace, or speed through turns – the game always calculates the results correctly.
In our preview of TopMob’s Vampire Crawlers, we noted that while the game starts a bit slower and isn’t as immediately addictive as the first one, it offers more strategic depth and a wonderfully chaotic experience. We also recently spoke with Galante, the game’s creator, who discussed Vampire Crawlers, his ambition to create a game like Castlevania, and hinted at other potential projects Poncle might be developing.
Vampire Crawlers will launch on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and mobile devices in 2026. The game will also be available on Xbox Game Pass starting on day one of its release, according to developer Poncle.
