New Tomb Raider Games Recast Lara Croft With A Gaming Veteran

Alix Wilton Regan will return as the voice of Lara Croft in the newly announced Tomb Raider games, Legacy of Atlantis and Catalyst, which were revealed at The Game Awards.

This differs from the recent Tomb Raider games—Tomb Raider, Rise of the Tomb Raider, and Shadow of the Tomb Raider—where Camilla Luddington provided both the voice and the performance capture for Lara Croft.

Hey, I’m a big fan of Wilton Regan! I first noticed her amazing work as Samantha Traynor in Mass Effect 3 – she really brought that character to life. But she’s super versatile; she also voiced the female Inquisitor in Dragon Age: Inquisition, which was awesome, and I didn’t even realize it was her playing Aya in Assassin’s Creed Origins until just now! She’s a seriously talented voice actress.

Legacy of Atlantis is a refreshed version of the first Tomb Raider game, boasting improved graphics, gameplay, and a more detailed story. Catalyst, on the other hand, is a completely new game built with Unreal Engine 5, and promises to be the biggest Tomb Raider adventure so far.

Legacy of Atlantis will be released in 2026, followed by Catalyst in 2027. Both games will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. Currently, there are no plans to release them on the Switch 2.

I’m so excited! It looks like Prime Video is bringing Tomb Raider to life with a new TV show! Sophie Turner will be playing Lara Croft, which I think is perfect casting, and Sigourney Weaver is going to be Wallace! I can’t wait to see it!
