Two years ago this week marked the grand debut of Bethesda’s interstellar action-RPG, Starfield, on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Last September in 2024, we got our hands on the game’s first major expansion, Shattered Space. Recent developments hint at a potential new expansion on the horizon! Bethesda’s official Starfield social media account dropped an anniversary message for fans, which seems to subtly reveal the title of the upcoming DLC.
We’re thrilled to be celebrating our 2 fantastic years in the #Starfield! 🌌
A big thank you to all those who have joined us on this cosmic journey, exploring the Settled Systems. We can’t wait for the exciting adventures ahead!— Starfield (@StarfieldGame) September 5, 2025
If it seemed to whiz past at a speed where you couldn’t quite grab every letter, it appears those two words might have been “Terran Armada.

The term “Terran Armada” implies a faction that has strong connections to Earth. According to the Starfield narrative, due to Earth becoming uninhabitable, humanity migrated to other star systems. Since then, they’ve had little reason to revisit their home world, but that may change in the future.
Previously over the summer, it was affirmed by Tim Lab, the main creative producer of Starfield, that there would indeed be a fresh expansion, along with other intriguing details.
The Lab announced that they are working on some exciting additions. These include free upgrades and long-awaited features from players, along with a new DLC story. While they can’t reveal everything just yet, they did mention that a portion of their team has been dedicated to enhancing space gameplay to make journeys through space more rewarding. They are also introducing new game systems, as well as a few small but delightful improvements.
It’s been consistently whispered that Starfield might eventually be playable on PlayStation 5 and possibly Nintendo Switch 2 as well. However, for now, these speculations haven’t been officially verified.
