Quantic Dream, the French studio behind the new Star Wars game *Eclipse*, has confirmed the game is still being made. Announced in 2021, *Eclipse* hasn’t had many public updates recently, leading some to worry about its status, but fans can rest assured that development continues.
The team is still working on Star Wars: Eclipse, and they plan to reveal more details soon, according to a recent blog post.
The game is set in the High Republic era, a time long before the events of the Star Wars movies. During this period, the Republic is at its strongest, but the galaxy still faces dangerous threats that players must overcome.
Experience the galaxy from the perspectives of a diverse group of compelling characters, each with unique personalities, beliefs, and goals. Their relationships and decisions will shape the story. The game takes place in a previously unexplored region of the galaxy, the Outer Rim, and features a branching storyline filled with dialogue and meaningful choices, similar to other games from Quantic Dream.
Quantic Dream is developing a Star Wars game called Eclipse, working closely with Lucasfilm and Disney. However, not every game Disney announced is still in development – EA recently canceled their Black Panther game based on the Marvel comics.
Quantic Dream is venturing into multiplayer gaming with Spellcasters Chronicles, and a closed beta will be available later this year.
Since 2018, Quantic Dream has grown its development team to handle several projects and established a new studio in Montreal. In 2022, the company was acquired by NetEase.
Founded in 1997, Quantic Dream has created five acclaimed games: The Nomad Soul, Fahrenheit, Heavy Rain, Beyond: Two Souls, and Detroit: Become Human.
