New screenshots for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales detail characters, actions, magicite, and Debut Demo feedback

So, Square Enix just dropped more details and screenshots for The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, and it’s looking pretty good! They finally confirmed it’s coming out on June 18th, which is awesome. I’m getting more and more hyped to play it!

This update provides more information about the game’s story, characters, what Elliot and Faie do, the magicite system, and what players thought of the first playable demo. It builds on the details we first revealed with the announcement trailer.

The game, The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales, will be available on June 18th for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and computers via Steam.

A Story of Four Ages across a Thousand Years

Okay, so I’m playing as Elliot and Faie, and our mission is to break the curse on Princess Heuria. To do that, we’re going to travel through time – literally! There’s this Doorway of Time, and we’ll be jumping to different eras in history to figure out how to lift the curse. It sounds like a pretty epic adventure!

Elliot and Faie will journey backward in time, leaving their era, known as the Age of Safekeeping, behind. Throughout their travels, a dangerous threat constantly follows them.

A continent overrun by beast tribes Philabieldia

Elliot’s story takes place in a world overrun by monsters and beast-like creatures. Humans have retreated to a single kingdom, shielded from the dangers outside by a magical barrier.

Age of Safekeeping

The Kingdom of Huther is located in Philabieldia and enjoys a peaceful existence. King Hichard rules the land, and a protective spell cast by Princess Heuria keeps the kingdom safe from dangerous beast tribes.

Elliot’s journey starts in the Age of Safekeeping, and he’ll travel back in time through the Ages of Reconstruction, Magic, and Budding.

Elliot

Voiced by: Ryota Osaka / Phillip Reich

This story centers around a kind and helpful young man who always steps in to assist others. He works as an adventurer, taking on jobs for the townspeople and getting paid for his services.

Elliot doesn’t know his parents and was raised in the kingdom’s orphanage. He regularly gives back by donating some of his money and helping care for the younger children there, whenever he’s not off on an adventure.

Faie

Voiced by: Rua Miyauchi / Brenna Larsen

Elliot has a fairy companion that no one else can see or hear. She uses her special magic to help and support him throughout his adventures, acting as a loyal friend.

She has very few clear memories of her life before Elliot, and a nagging feeling throughout their journey suggests she’s losing something vital from her past.

Princess Heuria

Voiced by: Manaka Iwami / Sura Siu

She’s a princess from the Kingdom of Huther with a natural talent for magic. She casts a protective spell called Safekeeping that keeps her kingdom safe. Because of this important responsibility, she’s unable to leave the castle and explore the world, even though she wishes she could.

Her fair and kindhearted nature has earned her the love and respect of the kingdom’s people.

King Hichard

Voiced by: Takehito Koyasu / Brent Mukai

The King of Huther is a kind and responsible leader who always puts his country first. He believes in using his power wisely, following the principle that true strength isn’t about control, and leads Huther with stability and fairness.

He was also concerned about his daughter, Heuria, as she had to keep maintaining the protective spell.

Kaifried

Voiced by: Junichi Suwabe / Brad Davidorf

The king’s advisor is a clever and skilled fighter. He disagrees with King Hichard’s cautious approach and the kingdom’s dependence on Princess Heuria’s magic. Instead, he believes they should actively seek out new magical abilities to ensure a strong future.

Euygene

Voiced by: Hiro Shimono / Willow Engel

The king’s chief magical researcher was once an adventurer, but realized he wasn’t cut out for that life. Despite his youth, he’s become a trusted advisor, and was able to convince the king to let his friend Elliot investigate some recently found ruins.

Faie’s Actions

Elliot has a fairy companion named Faie who helps him throughout his journey. She uses her magic to guide him past obstacles and traps, and will even fight alongside him. Faie’s help is essential for successful adventures.

As Faie travels, she’ll discover new magical skills. Elliot will face challenges that can only be solved with fairy magic, so be sure to use Faie’s abilities as soon as she learns them.

Sprint

Elliot has a special ability called “sprint” that lets him move incredibly fast. You can use it to quickly solve puzzles or simply travel around much faster.

Warp

Resurrection

If Elliot is defeated and loses all his strength, Faie has the power to revive him, allowing you to resume the story right where you left off.

Magicite

Collect magicite fragments and take them to the magicite shop to create complete magicite pieces with unique abilities. You can equip different combinations of magicite, which will boost Elliot’s weapons with their combined powers. Experiment with different sets to find what works best for your playstyle and helps you win battles! You can find magicite fragments by defeating enemies or opening treasure chests.

Each magicite costs a certain amount to use, and you can equip as many as your available resources allow. Experiment with different combinations to find sets that work well together, or that are best suited for particular challenges and fights.

Sword Magicite

Customize your sword and shield with special effects. You can strengthen your defenses for better protection, or intentionally make them weaker to open opportunities for powerful counterattacks.

Spear Magicite

Increase your polearm’s attack range beyond what your opponents can reach, or create a powerful new weapon by combining a spear with another one.

Debut Demo Feedback

So, we got a ton of feedback from players who tried out the demo on the Switch 2, and it’s really helpful! Based on what everyone told us, we’re going to be making some changes to the game. I’m excited to see how these adjustments will make it even better!
