Over the weekend, Kyle Chrisley, the eldest son of reality star Todd Chrisley, was arrested again. The 34-year-old was taken into custody in Tennessee on Saturday and charged with multiple offenses, including assault. While the initial reports didn’t detail what led to the arrest, new information suggests a disagreement between Kyle and law enforcement officers occurred.
I was reading about what happened with Kyle Chrisley this week, and it sounds like things got pretty tense. Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh shared details with Us Weekly about how it all unfolded. Apparently, Kyle’s wife, Ashleigh Nelson, called the police because she was worried about his behavior, describing him as belligerent. She was so concerned, she actually followed him in her car when he was walking in the road! Eventually, officers arrived, and it sounds like Kyle unfortunately became aggressive towards them as things progressed.
According to reports, Chrisley attacked the deputies, punching and injuring three of them. This led to a physical fight where officers used pepper spray. He now faces multiple charges, including domestic assault, being drunk in public, disorderly conduct, and resisting arrest, as well as three counts of assaulting law enforcement officers. He’s also been charged with three felony counts related to seeking revenge for previous incidents.
Kyle Chrisley, Todd’s son from his first marriage to Teresa Terry, has faced several arrests recently. In 2023, he was arrested in Tennessee for assault after a fight with his supervisor at a trucking company, where he allegedly threatened someone with a knife. Then, in 2024, he was arrested again for aggravated assault, but he and his wife sued the county and two deputies, claiming the arrest was a mistake.
More on the Chrisleys

Todd and Julie Chrisley, known from their reality TV show, are reportedly helping another reality star try to get a pardon from Donald Trump, with some calling them genuinely kind people.
Watching the Chrisley family saga unfold has been… complicated, to say the least. It’s clear a lot of the drama stems from Kyle’s past, and it’s really impacted his parents, Todd and Julie. Last year, Kyle’s ex-wife, Alexus Whilby, accused Todd of trying to pressure her into changing her story about their finances while she was testifying. And then there’s the custody battle over Kyle’s daughter, Chloe. Angela Johnson, Chloe’s mother, started fighting for custody against Todd and Julie, who had actually adopted Chloe. It’s a sad situation, especially considering Kyle lost custody of Chloe years ago, back in 2016, because of his struggles with addiction. It all adds another layer to this already complex family dynamic.
The Chrisley family, known from reality television, has experienced several legal troubles recently. In 2022, Todd and Julie Chrisley were convicted of tax fraud and began their prison sentences in early 2023, but were later pardoned by former President Donald Trump this spring. Additionally, their son, Chase Chrisley, was arrested in January after allegedly hitting someone in a bar. While Chase and his representative denied any assault occurred, Chase admitted he may have been arguing at the time.
After his recent arrest, Kyle Chrisley was taken into custody at the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. He was later released after posting a $80,500 bond, and a court date is scheduled for January 27th.
