
A new software update is available for the PlayStation 5. However, this update mainly improves the system’s performance and reliability, rather than adding new features.
Just downloaded the latest PS5 update – version 25.08-12.40.00 – and things already seem smoother! They’ve tweaked the messaging system and made a few screens easier to use, but the biggest thing is it feels like the whole system is running better and more reliably. Definitely a worthwhile update!
Sony usually prefers to make small, rather than large, changes with holiday updates, and this latest one follows that pattern.
