New Pirates of the Caribbean Update Will Divide Fans

Jerry Bruckheimer, the producer of the Pirates of the Caribbean movies, recently gave an update on the next film and addressed some rumors about who might star in it. There’s been talk that the next Pirates of the Caribbean movie, the sixth installment, could focus on Jack Sparrow’s son.

What is the latest Pirates of the Caribbean 6 update?

Jerry Bruckheimer recently told Entertainment Tonight’s Nischelle Turner that a third Top Gun movie is likely to come out before the sixth Pirates of the Caribbean film, suggesting the Pirates sequel is taking longer to develop. He also indicated that Margot Robbie is being considered for a role, but clarified that the new movie won’t focus on Jack Sparrow’s son as the main character.

“They’re close on part of it,” Bruckheimer said about the rumors.

“So maybe the Margot Robbie part and not the Jack Sparrow’s son?” Turner asked.

“I think you’re going up the right road,” Bruckheimer answered.

So, Disney is really trying to get the Pirates of the Caribbean movies going again, and it’s become a big focus for them. I was hearing that Krysty Wilson-Cairns, the writer of ‘1917’, was potentially working on the script for the sixth film. There was a lot of buzz last year about bringing Johnny Depp back as Jack Sparrow, though maybe not as the main character, but in a smaller role. Honestly, it’s hard to say if that’s still the plan right now, but that’s what the rumors were pointing to.

As a huge fan, I’m glad to hear Jerry Bruckheimer is still producing the next installment. He’s made it clear they’re not rushing things – they won’t make a sequel unless the script is absolutely perfect, which is reassuring. I also heard that before Craig Wilson-Cairns came on board, Ted Elliott, who’s worked on previous films, had already done some work on the script. It sounds like they’re really taking their time to get it right, and that’s a good sign!

According to Bruckheimer, they’re developing a screenplay. He emphasized that a movie can only include what’s written in the script. They initially had two script options, but ultimately decided to move forward with just one.
