Welcome to our look at the biggest upcoming games on Steam! This week is shaping up to be great for strategy game lovers, with a major new release and a highly anticipated expansion for an already popular title.

Release of the Week: Europa Universalis V (November 4, 2025)

This week’s most anticipated game release is Europa Universalis V, the newest addition to the popular grand strategy series created by Paradox Studio.

The game is getting a lot of positive attention online, with an average score of 85% on Metacritic. Early signs suggest this could be the company’s most successful game in years, which is especially good news after the recent, less well-received launch of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2.

Devil Jam

Devil Jam is a survival game where you fight waves of enemies in an arena, similar to the popular game Vampire Survivors. It’s made by Rogueside, the team behind well-liked games like Guns, Gore & Cannoli, Best Served Cold, and Warhammer 40,000: Shootas, Blood & Teef – all of which have very positive reviews on Steam. Rogueside is known for putting their own spin on successful game ideas, and we’re excited to see what they’ve done with Devil Jam.

Tales of Old: Dominus

Dominus is an open-world action RPG similar to the Mount & Blade games. It combines action, strategy, and survival. You’ll begin by simply trying to survive, but eventually you’ll grow to command armies and control territory.

Tavern Keeper (Early Access)

Today marks the Early Access launch of Tavern Keeper! It’s a strategy game where you manage and grow a tavern in a fantastical world.

I’m so excited about Greenheart Games’ new project! As the people behind Game Dev Tycoon – which, by the way, has a whopping 96% positive rating on Steam – I have really high hopes for it.

7 Days Blood Moons (Early Access)

7 Days Blood Moons is an online action game with a unique premise: one team plays as zombies, while the other team fights as humans trying to survive.

Age of Empires IV: Dynasties of the East

Age of Empires IV players will get a new expansion pack tomorrow called Dynasties of the East. This downloadable content adds four unique civilizations – the Golden Horde, Macedonian Dynasty, Sengoku Daimyo, and Tughlaq Dynasty – to the real-time strategy game, along with a new way to play and several new maps and environments.

Farming Simulator 25: Highlands Fishing Expansion

Farming Simulator 25 players are eagerly awaiting the release of the Highlands Fishing Expansion. This is the game’s first major expansion – previous additions were smaller downloads. It introduces a new map based on the Scottish Highlands, allowing players to fish, grow onions, and raise Highland cattle, along with a variety of new machines.

Football Manager 26

Bloodgrounds (Early Access)

Bloodgrounds is a strategy game set in ancient Rome. Players command a team of gladiators in arena battles and also build up their own town.

Dead Static Drive

Dead Static Drive is an action-packed driving game with elements of adventure and survival. Players travel along the dangerous Route 666, trying to reach their family in a world overrun by monsters inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. The developers playfully refer to it as “Grand Theft Cthulhu.”

Foolish Mortals

Second Sun

I’m really excited about Second Sun! It’s a first-person shooter where you get to run around a huge open world and basically blast through tons of enemies. Plus, it’s got RPG stuff, so you’ll be finding loot, leveling up your character, and exploring dungeons that are different every time you play. It sounds awesome!

Whiskerwood (Early Access)

The popularity of the game Timberborn has encouraged other developers to create similar titles. A great example is Whiskerwood, which launched on Thursday and lets players build cities for little mouse people.

Minakata Dynamics, the Japanese studio behind the popular strategy game Railgrade (which has a very positive 84% rating on Steam), is developing this game.

Mercantile Might

I’m so excited! Mercantile Might is finally coming to Steam this Friday! It’s a city-builder where you can build up a medieval town from scratch. What’s really amazing is that one person spent three whole years making this game – that’s dedication!

Restaurats

Restaurats is a fast-paced simulation game where you play as rats who operate a restaurant in a fantasy medieval setting. You can play the game alone or with friends in co-op mode.

Skopje ’83

Okay, so I’ve been playing this game called Skopje ’83, and it’s seriously cool! It’s a fast-paced shooter where you’re running around a retro-future version of Skopje, which is awesome, but it’s been taken over by mutants. The best part? You’re basically fighting waves of these monsters, finding better and better weapons, and doing it all from a bus that’s your base of operations. It’s got that roguelite thing going on, so every playthrough is different. I’m really hooked!

Voidtrain

Voidtrain is officially launching on Friday after being in Early Access. It’s a unique game that combines survival and first-person shooting, where you play as a mechanic working on a train that travels between dimensions. Players on Steam have given the Early Access version a positive rating, with 74% of reviews being positive.
