The movie’s first trailer, released last month, hinted at a different feel than James Gunn’s Superman film – a darker, more science fiction-focused story that appears to take place largely in space, exploring the wider DC Universe.
The newest image released showcases Supergirl inside what appears to be a spaceship, hinting at the film’s new direction. The initial trailer notably featured Supergirl mostly out of her iconic blue and red suit, saving the full reveal for the very end. Director James Gunn has confirmed that Kara Zor-El had a vastly different upbringing compared to Clark Kent, which likely explains her reluctance to embrace a costume tied to her Kryptonian heritage. Ultimately, this latest image creates a sense of excitement and confirms that this film will tell a unique story, distinct from Gunn’s previous work on Superman.

Milly Alcock is poised to become a major star as Supergirl in the new DC Universe. James Gunn’s upcoming movie, Man of Tomorrow, will bring back David Corenswet as Superman and Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, likely joining forces against Brainiac.
