An upcoming release gets a major update that will have franchise fans even more excited than before.
Bushiroad, a well-known entertainment and game company, has announced it will be creating a series of mobile games under its “Bushimo” label. These will include both new games and updates to existing ones. A major launch will be Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Survivor, a collaboration with WonderPlanet, expected in 2026.
Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor Gets New Update Ahead of Worldwide 2026 Release
Bushiroad recently announced a new mobile game developed with WonderPlanet Inc. It’s the first survival rogue-lite game based on the HUNTER x HUNTER series. The game is planned for a global release in 2026, and development is moving forward steadily. It will be part of Bushiroad’s ‘Bushimo’ lineup of games.
A new game was revealed in October by Bushiroad through an announcement trailer. The trailer shows fast-paced, top-down battles where the player fights large groups of enemies. It also highlights the game’s character collection and leveling system, featuring well-known characters from the Hunter x Hunter series.
Hunter x Hunter Nen x Survivor is just the latest video game based on and the sprawling franchise it started, although official updates on the franchise as a whole have been relatively rare in past months. The original manga first appeared in the pages of Weekly Shonen Jump in 1998, introducing readers to a world filled with all manner of menacing monsters and daring Hunters who seek fame and glory by cutting them down.
Gon is a young and innocent boy who dreams of becoming a great Hunter like his father, Ging. When he learns his father isn’t actually gone, Gon becomes even more determined to follow in his footsteps. He embarks on a journey to become a skilled Hunter and, along the way, hopes to find and save Ging from whatever trouble he’s in.
The Hunter x Hunter manga is still being created, but it’s been over a decade since a new anime series was released. The story has been adapted into anime before, with two full series, several movies, many short animated episodes, and even stage plays. The most recent anime adaptation, which began in 2011, ended in 2014 after 148 episodes.
It’s understandable that fully adapting Hunter x Hunter has been challenging, especially with the manga frequently going on break and facing other delays. A new chapter released in October offered hope to fans. The manga is still ongoing, but its release schedule is very unpredictable due to the creator’s health problems – they’re also known for the popular series Yu Yu Hakusho.
