New DC & Marvel Crossovers Revealed, Features Dream Spider-Man Team-up

In early 2025, DC and Marvel surprised comic book fans by announcing they would team up for a crossover event—the first of its kind in over twenty years. The initial books featuring characters from both Marvel and DC were very popular with readers. Now, a new series is planned, and Spider-Man will be featured in another team-up as part of a crossover anthology.

The upcoming crossover comic from DC and Marvel will be called Superman/Spider-Man #1. This story brings together Spider-Man and Superman and celebrates 50 years of team-ups between Marvel and DC. The two heroes first collaborated in a crossover event back in 1976, marking the beginning of these partnerships.

Mark Waid is writing the upcoming team-up comic featuring Superman and Spider-Man, with artwork by Jorge Jiménez. The story begins with both Clark Kent and Peter Parker independently investigating the same case for their newspapers. Their investigation leads them to a dangerous alliance between Brainiac and Doctor Octopus, forcing Superman and Spider-Man to team up and protect the world.

What other crossovers will Superman/Spider-Man #1 have?

The upcoming Superman/Spider-Man #1 comic will focus on family dynamics, setting it apart from the larger DC/Marvel crossovers planned for 2025. Instead of featuring a wide range of heroes, this comic will center on the families and close associates of Superman and Spider-Man, leading to some surprising partnerships. A talented team of writers and artists will bring these stories to life.

  • Lois Lane and Mary Jane Watson join forces in a story by Tom King and Jim Lee.
  • Jimmy Olsenencounters Carnage in a story by Matt Fraction and Steve Lieber.
  • Sean Murphy explores the future, teaming Superboy of the Legion of Super-Heroes with Spider-Man 2099.
  • Power Girl faces The Punisher in a comic by Gail Simone and Belén Ortega.
  • Superboy Prime bends reality to confront Spider-Man just as he got the black suit in a story by Christopher Priest and Daniel Sampere.
  • The staff of The Daily Planet and The Daily Bugle compete in a race in a story by Greg Rucka and Nicola Scott.
