New Avengers Doomsday Video Confirms The Cast Will Be Divided Into 6 Teams

A recent trailer for the upcoming Avengers: Doomsday movie confirmed the film will split its large cast into six different teams. This highly anticipated event, part of the Multiverse Saga, will bring together heroes from across different universes for the first time to stop Doctor Doom, played by Robert Downey Jr., from carrying out a dangerous plan. The cast announcement also revealed that heroes from the X-Men and Fantastic Four will join the Avengers and New Avengers from Earth-616 to save the Multiverse.

The impressive lineup of heroes, featuring various teams joining forces, signals that Doomsday will be a large-scale project for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. While the cast includes some surprising returns like Patrick Stewart and Alan Cumming, key characters like Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel are notably absent from the official announcement. With the first trailer arriving this month, excitement for Doomsday is building, and Marvel Studios is starting its promotional campaign by showcasing the confirmed teams at an event in Italy.

At the 48th Professional Cinema Days in Sorrento, Italy, Walt Disney Studios presented a video revealing the teams featured in the upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday.

The official cast reveal included a video showcasing the six teams featured in the project: the Fantastic Four, Wakandan Warriors, Avengers, Thunderbolts (which are a new version of the Avengers), the X-Men, and Doctor Doom’s team.

Directed by the Russo Brothers, Avengers: Doomsday promises an epic battle as Earth’s heroes fight to protect the Multiverse from the villainous Doctor Doom. The film is scheduled to hit theaters on December 18, 2026.

Every Confirmed Team in Avengers: Doomsday

Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom is the main villain in Avengers: Doomsday. The movie’s description reveals he has a plan to cause a massive, universe-spanning disaster, creating a crisis that will affect the entire Multiverse.

Whether Doctor Doom will assemble his own team in Doomsday is still unclear. However, the massive hero alliance forming against him implies he might not need one, particularly since he’s being portrayed as an incredibly powerful and determined villain.

Fantastic 4

The Fantastic Four are set for a major showdown with Doctor Doom. The movie’s ending revealed Doom is after their son, Franklin Richards, which means Sue Storm, Reed Richards, Johnny Storm, and Ben Grimm will do everything they can to stop him. They might even have to risk leaving their home dimension vulnerable to protect the entire Multiverse.

Beyond just being their greatest enemy, Doctor Doom wanting Franklin Richards makes this conflict deeply personal for the Fantastic Four. They’ve already fought to protect Franklin from Galactus, a being who wanted to use him for evil, so Doom’s interest adds another layer of urgency and stakes.

Wakandans

In the film Avengers: Doomsday, Wakanda is now led by Shuri, who has become the new Black Panther, and M’Baku, who is the king of Wakanda, a role established by the ending of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.

The presentation surprisingly showed Namor as one of the Wakandans, even though he’s actually from Talokan. This might just be an error, and it’s still possible that the people of Talokan – including Namora and Attuma – will team up to protect Earth from Doctor Doom.

Avengers

One of the most exciting parts of Disney’s announcement is the Avengers team featured in Doomsday. The team includes Sam Wilson as Captain America, Joaquin Torres as Falcon, Thor, Ant-Man, Shang-Chi, and surprisingly, Loki. This suggests that Thor and Loki will reunite and fight together against Doctor Doom and his army in Doomsday much sooner than expected.

The upcoming movie, Avengers: Doomsday, will really put Sam Wilson’s skills as a leader to the test. It will be fascinating to see how he works with Shang-Chi, Loki, and Thor, as he hasn’t teamed up with them before.

Thunderbolts

The 2025 film Thunderbolts featured a team of villains who unexpectedly became heroes – a group that eventually evolved into the MCU’s version of the New Avengers. Despite disagreements with Sam Wilson’s Avengers team about who gets to use the name “Avengers,” they must join forces to protect not only Earth, but the entire Multiverse, from the threat of Doctor Doom.

The team is made up of incredibly powerful individuals, including super soldiers like Bucky Barnes, Red Guardian, and U.S. Agent. Yelena Belova previously trained in the Red Room, while Ghost used to work for SHIELD and can become intangible – a skill great for spying and gathering information. The unpredictable element is Bob, also known as Sentry, who is potentially the most powerful member and could be a serious threat if Doom manipulates him against the others.

X-Men

Adding the X-Men to Avengers: Doomsday created a lot of excitement, especially since the actors who previously played the mutant characters in the Fox movies are set to reprise their roles in this team-up.

The cast features Patrick Stewart as Charles Xavier, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, and Channing Tatum as Gambit.

With such a skilled and seasoned group of heroes, this team could be the most experienced we’ve seen in the movie, giving them a significant advantage against a villain who isn’t bound by any moral principles.
