New Avengers: Doomsday Rumor Makes Wild Claim About What Doctor Doom Has Planned For The Fantastic Four And X-Men

As a huge Marvel fan, I’m so excited to see the Avengers team up again in Avengers: Doomsday – it’s been a while since we’ve seen them all together! But it’s not just the Avengers who’ll be showing up. The Fantastic Four are officially back after their quick intro last year, and apparently, we’re going to see familiar faces from the X-Men universe too. They’re all joining forces to take on Doctor Doom, who sounds like a seriously dangerous villain. But here’s the really crazy rumor going around: apparently Robert Downey Jr.’s new character has some unexpected plans involving both the Fantastic Four and the X-Men. I can’t wait to see what happens!

Victor von Doom, also known as Doom, briefly appeared in a post-credits scene of The Fantastic Four: First Steps, kneeling before Franklin Richards four years after the film’s main story. Traditionally the Fantastic Four’s biggest enemy, a source claims Doom will surprisingly team up with them in Doomsday to combat the multiversal incursions. Apparently, this leads them to the main Marvel Cinematic Universe to warn the heroes, which fits with what happened in the post-credits scene of Thunderbolts*.

We all know Doctor Doom can’t be trusted, so his recent attempts to make alliances are definitely suspicious. Things get even stranger when rumors suggest Doom, the Fantastic Four, and the Avengers are traveling to the X-Men’s universe. This trip is supposedly the cause of a new crisis that threatens to destroy both universes, and they need to stop it. This seems to be the same X-Men universe that Monica Rambeau landed in at the end of The Marvels, where she encountered Beast and an alternate version of her mother, who had become Binary.

The setup suggests Doctor Doom is manipulating the Fantastic Four and the Avengers into fighting the X-Men, likely as a step towards his goal of multiversal domination. But what happens next in Avengers: Doomsday? Will these teams realize they’re being played and team up before it’s too late? Is Doom after something hidden within the X-Men’s world, or does he need their help to conquer it? And if he does succeed, will he immediately betray the Avengers and Fantastic Four, or will he continue to use them for his own purposes?

There’s a rumor going around that’s raising a lot of questions, and hopefully the first trailer for Avengers: Doomsday will confirm whether it’s true. Based on the Doomsday teaser focusing on the X-Men, it seems likely the mutant characters will face a lot of hardship. The film will feature many familiar faces from the X-Men movies, including Patrick Stewart as Professor X, Ian McKellen as Magneto, James Marsden as Cyclops, Kelsey Grammer as Beast, Rebecca Romijn as Mystique, and Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler. Channing Tatum will return as Gambit after appearing in Deadpool & Wolverine, but he’ll be toning down his Cajun accent this time.

The new movie, Avengers: Doomsday, comes out December 18th, so it’s a good idea to refresh your knowledge of the Marvel Cinematic Universe by watching shows and movies on Disney+. And after that, the Avengers, Fantastic Four, and X-Men will face off against Doctor Doom again in Avengers: Secret Wars, scheduled for release on December 17, 2027.
