New Agatha Christie Movie Lands Karate Kid Legends Director

Agatha Christie remains incredibly popular even today. Despite the constant arrival of fresh, new stories, adaptations of her work continue to find success.

One of the author’s novels is being adapted for the screen not once, but twice! The BBC and BritBox International announced a television series based on Endless Nights back in May. And just recently, Studiocanal revealed they’re also creating a new psychological thriller based on the same book, with Jonathan Entwistle, known for Karate Kid: Legends, directing.

The new project from Entwistle will be a fresh take on the well-known Agatha Christie novel. Entwistle will direct, working from a screenplay by Emily Siegel. Andrew Rona and Alex Heineman will produce the film through their existing agreement with Studiocanal.

The new film, Endless Night, centers around a driven young man whose life spirals into a complicated mess of accusations and lies when he becomes involved with a troubled American heiress and her aide.

This novel, published in 1967, isn’t one of Agatha Christie’s famous Hercule Poirot or Miss Marple mysteries. Christie herself considered it a personal favorite, and it was well-received by critics when it was first released.

Endless Night centers around Michael Rogers, a twenty-two-year-old with a variety of jobs, who unexpectedly becomes the chauffeur for Rudolf Santonix, a mysterious and popular designer.

The BBC hasn’t shared any recent news about the upcoming three-part series, including who will star in it. While filming was planned to begin this year, no cast members have been announced. Jonathan Entwistle’s updated version of the story currently doesn’t have any actors attached.
