Netflix has confirmed it’s making another season of the show! Even though it was originally intended to be a one-time series, the first season was so popular that they’ve decided to continue it.
The eight-part comedy-drama series was inspired by Alan Alda’s 1981 film of the same name. It followed three couples over a year, showing their gatherings during vacations and special events. Recently, the show’s second season cast Steven Pasquale, known for his role in Aliens vs. Predator: Requiem, as a new character.
The new comedy-drama launched on Netflix on May 1st, 2025, and was quickly renewed for another season – just two weeks after it first appeared! The cast is thrilled to come back, but unfortunately, Steve Carell’s character, Nick, won’t be returning.
In the winter installments of The Four Seasons, the friends stopped celebrating Christmas together as a group. Tina Fey’s character, Kate, and her husband, Jack, did meet up with Danny, Claude, and Anne, but Anne’s new boyfriend, Nick, chose to spend the holidays with his girlfriend Ginny’s friends. Sadly, Nick died in a car accident while on the way to the grocery store.
The show is adding Steven Pasquale as a new recurring character named Mark Brett. He’ll be introduced as a friend of the group during their summer vacation at the Jersey shore. Sources suggest his storyline will continue even after the summer episodes finish.
Fey, Forte, Domingo, Calvani, Henningsen, and Kenney-Silver are all returning for the new season. The story picks up after the shocking news revealed at the funeral – that Ginny is pregnant with Nick’s baby.
The Four Seasons Season 1 is streaming on Netflix. Season 2 doesn’t have a release date.
