Tommy Shelby, the leader of the Peaky Blinders, is returning in a new feature film on Netflix, titled Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. Following the six seasons of the hit crime drama, set in the gritty streets of Birmingham, the movie takes place in 1940. It finds Tommy in self-imposed exile, struggling with inner demons and medicated, in a state that actor Cillian Murphy calls a sort of in-between – not fully alive, not quite gone.
Okay, so Tommy Shelby is being pulled back into the game, and this time it’s deeply personal. His son, Duke, has taken the reins of the Peaky Blinders, but he’s gotten mixed up in something truly dangerous – a Nazi conspiracy. Tom Harper directs, and Steven Knight penned the script, and honestly, the trailer – which dropped on February 19th – absolutely blew up online, as you’d expect. The film arrives in select cinemas on March 6th, 2026, before hitting Netflix on March 20th, 2026. The cast list is fantastic, so I’ve put together a complete guide to who’s returning, and who’s new to the world of the Peaky Blinders.
Cillian Murphy as Tommy Shelby

Netflix
I truly can’t imagine anyone else being Tommy Shelby – Cillian Murphy was born to play that role. After seeing him win an Oscar for Oppenheimer, it’s amazing to see him return to the character that really put him on the map. This new film, Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man, shows Tommy at his absolute lowest – he’s running, he’s lost, and barely holding it together. Cillian has said he only wanted to revisit Tommy if the story felt right, and it’s clear this one finally is. It feels like a proper goodbye, and I’m so glad he came back to give Tommy the send-off he deserves.
Rebecca Ferguson as Kaulo

Netflix
Rebecca Ferguson is a fantastic new addition to the film, playing Kaulo, a Romani medium with a strong connection to Tommy and his son, Duke. Director Anthony Murphy specifically brought her on board, recognizing her talent from films like Dune and A House of Dynamite. Initially, there was a question of accent – Ferguson didn’t feel comfortable attempting a Birmingham accent. This led to a creative decision to give Kaulo a Romani accent, which not only suited Ferguson’s strengths but also deepened the character’s background and identity. Writer Steven Knight has described Kaulo as a powerful and spiritual character, similar to the impactful role Helen McCrory played as Polly Gray.
Tim Roth as Beckett

Sky Atlantic
Tim Roth excels at playing villains who are disturbing not through shouting or wild behavior, but through quiet menace. In this role, as Beckett – a British man with fascist leanings drawn into the orbit of Duke Shelby – he avoids portraying a typical, over-the-top evil character. Roth has pointed out that Beckett is actually quite reasonable and controlled, which is what makes him so frightening. Considering the show’s focus on the actual growth of British fascism in its later seasons, Beckett feels like a disturbingly believable and natural progression of that threat.
Jay Lycurgo

Netflix
I was really excited to hear Jay Lycurgo joined the cast of the Peaky Blinders film back in September! They haven’t revealed who he’s playing yet, but honestly, it’s a perfect fit. I’ve been a fan since his work on The Bastard Son & The Devil Himself and even Titans. Plus, he was in Steve with Cillian Murphy, so there’s already a connection there. He’s great at playing these complex, young guys who are a little bit unpredictable and have something to prove, which feels very Peaky Blinders. I can’t wait to see what role he’s landed when the film finally comes out!
Barry Keoghan as Duke Shelby

Netflix
Duke Shelby arrived in Season 6 as Tommy Shelby’s long-lost son, raised outside the family and naturally wary of their world. Barry Keoghan now plays Duke in the movie, and it’s a perfect fit. Keoghan has become known for his intense and unpredictable performances in films like Saltburn and The Banshees of Inisherin, which is exactly what the character of Duke needs. The trailer shows him taking charge of the Peaky Blinders with a reckless attitude, and it’s clear things aren’t going to go smoothly.
Returning Supporting Cast

Several actors from the original series return to help build the world of the movie and connect it to the show’s six seasons. While they aren’t central to the main story, the supporting characters have always been vital to Peaky Blinders, just as much as the leads.
- Sophie Rundle as Ada Shelby, Tommy’s sharp, principled sister, and one of the few Shelby members still standing after six seasons.
- Stephen Graham as Hayden Stagg, who reprises the dockworker union leader he played in Season 5. Currently on a remarkable run with Adolescence and A Thousand Blows, Graham’s character is interesting because his alliance with Tommy was always complicated.
- Ned Dennehy as Charlie Strong, Tommy’s uncle, and one of the oldest and most constant presences in the show. Charlie has always lived just outside the violence, and he’s survived by staying that way.
- Packy Lee as Johnny Dogs, Tommy’s Romani cousin, and a loyal fixture of the inner circle. His heritage is tied directly to Duke’s storyline, which could give him more to do here than in previous seasons.
- Ian Peck as Curly, the gentle, horse-loving stable hand who has been part of the Shelby operation since the very beginning. Also, not a man of violence, which is probably why he’s still alive.
Who Isn’t in the Netflix Movie
Despite a talented cast, some key characters won’t be in Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. This is due to deaths within the show, actors deciding not to reprise their roles, and one particularly sad and final loss. Here’s a list of who you won’t see.
- Arthur Shelby Jr. (Paul Anderson)
- Oswald Mosley (Sam Claflin)
- Alfie Solomons (Tom Hardy)
- Linda Shelby (Kate Phillips)
- Gina Gray (Anya Taylor-Joy)
The final season of Peaky Blinders has big shoes to fill, following six seasons of a critically acclaimed and well-acted show on Netflix. With some key cast members no longer with us, it’s good to see Cillian Murphy, Barry Keoghan, Helen McCrory (through archival footage), and Tom Hardy returning. The talent involved gives fans reason to be excited, and the premiere date – March 20th – can’t come fast enough.
