After a long wait, the live-action version of One Piece on Netflix is back for Season 2! This season will follow the Straw Hat crew as they enter the Grand Line and begin a brand new adventure. With the premiere just over two weeks away, excitement for the show is incredibly high, fueled by the recent trailers and sneak peeks.
While fans have already been introduced to some exciting new characters, many others haven’t appeared yet, and the absence of Karoo was particularly noticeable. Fortunately, it’s just been confirmed that Karoo will be making a live-action appearance, and the announcement came as a complete surprise.
One Piece Indirectly Confirms Karoo’s Live-Action Debut
Even though Karoo and Vivi are always together in the One Piece story, Karoo hasn’t appeared in any of the promotional materials for Season 2 on Netflix. Fans have noticed he’s missing from all trailers, teasers, and posters featuring Vivi, and they’re worried he might be cut from the show or have a much smaller role, similar to what happened with the character Chouchou in Season 1.
Good news for fans! It looks like Karoo will be appearing in the live-action One Piece series after all. A recent post on X from @pewpiece indicates that Eiichiro Oda sent signed shirts to the cast and crew. These shirts feature cute, miniature versions of the Straw Hat crew, along with Vivi and Karoo, strongly suggesting Karoo will be part of Season 2 – something fans have been eagerly hoping for.
One Piece Season 2 Would Be Incomplete Without Karoo
Although Karoo might appear to be a small, unimportant character, he’s just as much a part of the Straw Hat crew as Vivi. This is perfectly captured in a scene highlighted by Oda on a signed t-shirt – it’s a key moment showing how much he means to the group.
The shirt features a scene where Luffy’s crew, along with Vivi and Karoo, mark Xs on their arms. This was a clever way to prevent Bon Clay from impersonating them. That X becomes significant again at the end of the Alabasta Arc, leading to one of the most heartfelt scenes in the entire One Piece series.
Now that the character has been quietly confirmed, fans can rest easy about Karoo’s appearance. Hopefully, we’ll get a look at him before the second season premieres on March 10th. Netflix did a fantastic job bringing Tony Tony Chopper to life while keeping his endearing qualities, and we’re hoping they can achieve the same with Karoo, who is equally beloved by fans.
