Netflix is seeing huge success with its latest thriller, starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, which is already a popular streaming choice. Even though January is only halfway over, Netflix is having a fantastic start to 2026. Original films like the romantic comedy People We Meet on Vacation, and thrilling series such as Land of Sin and Run Away, are proving to be big hits with viewers.

Netflix is clearly succeeding with thriller content, as evidenced by the recent performance of its latest film. “The Rip,” starring Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, quickly rose to the top of Netflix charts worldwide. People We Meet on Vacation is holding strong at number two, but the movie in third place differs depending on whether you look at worldwide numbers or just the US. Released on Netflix on January 16, 2026, The Rip quickly became the most-watched movie worldwide after just one day.
