Netflix‘s impactful action thriller series scores a major knockout.
Netflix has a lot of action-packed TV shows and movies. Popular Netflix Originals like The Night Agent, Money Heist, Cobra Kai, Last Samurai Standing, and FUBAR have become hits with viewers both in the United States and around the globe, which is exactly what Netflix aims for as a worldwide streaming service.
Over the years, the streaming service has quietly built a strong collection of international shows. Series like Squid Game, Money Heist, Detective Hole, Dark, and Alice in Borderland have all become very popular. Currently, one action thriller in particular is proving to be a huge hit again, ranking among the service’s most successful foreign-language series.
According to FlixPatrol, the South Korean action series Bloodhounds is currently the second most popular TV show on Netflix around the world. It first premiered on June 9, 2023, and the second season arrived on April 3, 2026. The series quickly climbed to the #2 spot on Netflix’s global charts and has remained there ever since.
As of today, I’m really surprised to see Bloodhounds doing so well on Netflix! It’s actually outperforming some pretty big shows like the second season of One Piece, and even the new thrillers Detective Hole and Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen. The only thing beating it on the global charts right now is XO, Kitty, which is cool because both shows are set in South Korea – it seems that setting is really resonating with viewers!
Since its release, season 2 of Bloodhounds has become incredibly popular, trending in 89 countries worldwide. It’s currently the #1 show on Netflix in 15 countries, including Qatar, South Korea, the United Arab Emirates, and Turkey. In the United States, Bloodhounds is also performing well, ranking as the 9th most-watched show on Netflix.
The Netflix show Bloodhounds has climbed the US TV chart, surpassing Beauty in Black and landing in the top 10. It joins other popular series like XO, Kitty, Something Very Bad Is Going to Happen, and Virgin River. Currently, Raw from WWE is the most-watched show in the US. As of today, season 2 of Bloodhounds has a strong audience score of 81% on Rotten Tomatoes.
Bloodhounds tells the story of Kim Gun-woo and Hong Woo-jin, two young boxers who become involved in a dangerous world of loan sharks. Gun-woo’s mother falls into debt with a shady organization, while Woo-jin, a former marine with a rebellious streak, finds focus through boxing. They join forces with Choi Tae-ho, a kind loan shark haunted by a past tragedy, to bring the organization down. In season 2 of Bloodhounds, the characters find themselves competing in a secret, underground boxing league.
