As a critic, I’m constantly bombarded with options on Netflix, and honestly, it can be overwhelming trying to decide what’s worth my time. Thankfully, Ebaster steps in to help. They provide weekly guides to what’s hot and offer personalized series recommendations, which really takes the stress out of finding your next binge-worthy show.
This new series is critically acclaimed, boasting a 98% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, but hasn’t yet become a huge hit on Netflix’s most popular lists. With four seasons and 32 episodes total, it’s a fantastic choice for anyone wanting a show to really get lost in.
Brockmire Is A Certified Fresh Netflix Hidden Gem
Recently added to Netflix in December 2025, Brockmire is a fantastic show that’s flying under the radar. This critically praised series, originally on IFC from 2017 to 2020, is a great choice if you enjoy sitcoms, shows that blend comedy and drama, or heartwarming sports stories like Ted Lasso.
The basic idea behind Brockmire is quite similar to HBO’s Eastbound & Down, but instead of a former baseball player, it follows a disgraced sports announcer. Like Owen Wilson’s Apple TV series Ted Lasso, it’s a feel-good story about someone trying to turn their life around.
With the new season of Stranger Things coming out, Brockmire probably won’t be the most popular show on Netflix. However, we think it’s a fantastic hidden gem and well worth watching this week – it’s funny and has a great nostalgic vibe.
Why Brockmire Is Worth Binge-Watching
Even if you don’t follow sports, you’ll probably enjoy Brockmire. Hank Azaria, the star who played the disgraced announcer Jim Brockmire, makes the show appealing to a wide audience. You might know Azaria from popular shows like Ray Donovan, Friends, and The Simpsons – he’s won six Emmy Awards!
For sports fans, Brockmire is a truly unique show, featuring cameos from well-known broadcasters like Bob Costas and Joe Buck. The show also boasts a great supporting cast – Amanda Peet, Richard Kind, and Tyrel Jackson Williams – who bring a lot of humor and heart to the series.
Despite lasting four seasons and receiving praise from critics, Brockmire has remained somewhat under the radar. If you’re looking for a hilarious and well-written show with great acting to binge-watch, Brockmire on Netflix is an excellent choice.
