Netflix Snaps Up Israeli Drama ‘Bad Boy’ From ‘Euphoria’ Creator Ron Leshem – Global Bulletin

BAD BOY

As a movie reviewer with a soft spot for gritty dramas and a penchant for stories that delve deep into the human spirit, I found myself utterly captivated by “Bad Boy.” With its roots firmly planted in reality, this gripping tale of redemption, friendship, and the indomitable power of resilience resonated with me on a profound level.

The latest drama, titled ‘Bad Boy,’ created by Euphoria’s Ron Leshem, has secured a global distribution deal with Netflix.

Based on real-life events, the movie “Bad Boy” narrates the tale of a man named Dean, who was once confined in a harsh juvenile detention center. There, he struck up a friendship with a fellow inmate serving time for murder. After two decades, Dean has managed to move past his previous life and has thrived as a comedian. However, he is resolute about concealing his troubled adolescent years from public view.

In this production, Leshem serves as the head honcho, with Hagar Ben-Asher (“Dead Women Walking”) handling the writing and direction duties. The main cast includes Daniel Chen, Havtamo Farda, and Guy Manster.

The eight-part series is jointly produced and partially funded by The North Road Company and Sipur, both acting as co-producers for this venture. Alongside them, Israeli Broadcaster HOT and Tedy Productions are also involved in production.

It will launch on HOT in Israel next year followed by 190 territories on Netflix.
