Netflix announced it will begin offering select video podcasts from Spotify, though the popular ‘Joe Rogan Experience’ won’t be among them.
When Joe Rogan joined Spotify in 2020, the platform had to update its features for his podcast, The Joe Rogan Experience. The most significant change was adding support for video podcasts, along with a comments section.
Video is becoming increasingly common on Spotify. Over the past five years, it’s expanded beyond just audio to include video podcasts, music videos accompanying songs, and occasional video ads.
Over the years, Netflix has expanded beyond just streaming movies and TV shows. Now, you can also watch live events, including sports, and even play games directly on the platform.
Netflix will broadcast The Ringer podcasts soon
Netflix is partnering with The Ringer, a popular podcast network owned by Spotify, to start offering some of their video podcasts on the streaming platform.
Beginning in early 2026, Netflix will also offer 16 podcasts from Bill Simmons’ network. These include popular shows like The Rewatchables, Bill Simmons’ sports podcast, The Big Picture, and two true crime podcasts.
Most of these podcasts focus on sports, and they’re now moving to Netflix. The Ringer’s podcasts about Formula 1, the NFL, the NBA, and Fantasy Football are particularly popular and have consistently topped the charts on Spotify.
Beginning in early 2026, Netflix will start offering a selection of popular video podcasts from Spotify, including shows created by Spotify Studios and The Ringer. Some of the podcasts available will be The Bill Simmons Podcast, The Zach Lowe Show, The McShay Show, The Rewatchables, Serial Killers, and The Dave Chang Show.

You’ll still be able to find these podcasts on both Spotify and YouTube. Bill Simmons has been posting his podcast on YouTube since he left ESPN, and it’s become a regular feature there.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Netflix will probably add more podcasts from The Ringer over time, but they haven’t announced which ones yet.
Spotify has been actively partnering with other companies lately. For example, they recently teamed up with ChatGPT to offer AI-powered podcast recommendations to their Premium users.
