As a seasoned film enthusiast and someone who has spent countless hours immersed in the captivating world of cinematography, I find myself thoroughly enthralled by the latest announcements from Netflix’s European heads. The upcoming seasons of “The Law According to Lidia Poët” and the reunion special of “Nouvelle Ecole” promise to deliver stories that will undoubtedly resonate with audiences across continents.
Netflix executives from Europe have revealed glimpses of upcoming projects and new productions. In Italy, they’ve confirmed that “The Law According to Lidia Poët” will return for a third season, while in France, they announced a three-part reunion special titled “Nouvelle Ecole.
In the third installment of “The Law According to Lidia Poët,” which Tinny Andreatta, Vice President of Italian content, revealed, will once more feature Matilda De Angelis in the leading role.
In the meantime, Pauline Dauvin, Content Vice President from France, unveiled a three-part reunion event for the talent show “Nouvelle Ecole” (“Rhythm and Flow: France”). This allows fans to reconnect with their beloved contestants.
At Content London U.K. television conference, executives, along with Larry Tanz from Netflix’s EMEA content division, disclosed fresh details about two upcoming series. One is “The Leopard,” an adaptation of the Italian novel, starring Kim Rossi Stuart, Benedetta Porcaroli, and Deva Cassel. The other is a romantic comedy titled “French Lover” that will feature Omar Sy.
This week, Tanz marks a decade with the streaming platform. During this time span (2020-2023), Netflix poured €6.5 billion into European series and movies, ranging from “Emily in Paris” to “Society of the Snow,” generating over 60,000 jobs within the continent as part of their regional productions.
