Neptunia Unlimited villains introduced with playable character customization features

Compile Heart recently released new information and updated the official website for Choushinjikuu Game Neptune Unlimited. The update details how players can customize the playable characters, changing both their looks and abilities. It also introduces the game’s main villains, including returning characters Arfoire and Warechu.

Here are the translations for the new details. For characters other than Arfoire and Warechu, we’ve used romanized versions of the original Japanese names. These English names might change when the game, Neptunia Unlimited, is officially released.

Choushinjikuu Game Neptune Unlimited will launch in Japan on August 27th for Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 & 5.

Villain Characters

Sashew

Sashew (voice actress still unknown)

The Sashew Cult centers its beliefs around a mysterious figure whose identity remains hidden – even from the cult’s leaders. This figure has gained prominence alongside the spread of doomsday predictions, and their appearance and voice are deliberately concealed.

*サシュー (Sashuu) comes from サ終, the abbreviation of サービス終了 (End of Service).

Baddo Mana

Baddo Mana (voiced by Manaka Nakayama)

Poison Spider leads the Yankee Team and is known locally as Bloody Yo-yo Mana. She disagreed with the changes happening in Lastation and took over an abandoned factory on the outskirts of town, leading to ongoing conflict with Ciel. Despite her serious nature, she often uses playful or unusual language, differing from the original Japanese wording.

*罰怒マナ/ばっどまな (Baddomana) is a pun derived from Bad Manner (バッドマナー).

Cedrie

Cedrie (voiced by Hiori Nashimoto)

This girl loves pirates and sharks, and playfully calls herself the Captain of the Cedrie Pirates. She even uses a unique, old-fashioned way of saying ‘I’ in Japanese! Though she doesn’t have a ship yet, she’s a free spirit who often finds herself in trouble, usually without meaning to. Strangely enough, she’s also incredibly popular with a group of mice called Tenbaichus, and she cares for them like they’re her own children.

Sedorii refers to the practice of buying used games at a low price and reselling them for a profit, a process known as ‘sedori’ in Japanese.

Tenbaichu

Tenbaichu (voiced by Mai Sato)

Some mice resort to reselling goods to get by, and their large-scale shopping sprees have drawn criticism. They particularly admire someone named Cedrie, whom they see as their leader, and they often pretend to be pirates together.

The internet slang term “tenbai-chuu” is written as 転売厨 in kanji, which translates to something like “reselling fanatics” or “people obsessed with reselling items for profit.”

Kyohou Aori

Kyohou Aori (voiced by Yae Sakura)

This robot girl is a hidden mastermind operating within Gamindustri. As a key member of the Sashew Cult, she’s constantly searching for individuals who could become powerful Apostles. She’s skilled at manipulating people by exploiting their vulnerabilities with carefully chosen words, and often spreads false or exaggerated information. She cleverly uses platforms like social media and streaming to fuel conversations about the approaching Doomsday.

The internet slang term ‘Kyohou Aori’ can be written with the kanji 巨砲煽り, which translates to ‘huge cannon instigator’ – someone who deliberately stirs up trouble and arguments online.

Arfoire

Arfoire (Magiquone) (voiced by Chiaki Takahashi)

This unsettling witch assists the Sashew Cult as a harbinger of the end times. Her body is covered in stitched-up wounds, and she seems to have merged with a dragon. She’s lost all memory of her past, and now only acts on a deep-seated hatred for Goddesses.

Warechu

Warechu (voiced by Neeko)

Warechu used to be part of a criminal group that caused worldwide trouble. After the Goddesses destroyed the organization, legitimate work became impossible, forcing Warechu to take on shady part-time jobs while operating in secret. Warechu also claims to be the third-highest-ranked member of the Mouse Mascot World.

Character Customization

We’ve expanded the character customization options! Now you can boost your characters’ strength by tailoring their equipment, discs, and combos. Plus, you can change the Goddesses’ outfits to create the look you want. This lets you fully personalize both how your characters play and how they appear.

Processor Unit enhancements

As you play through the story in Basecamp, you’ll unlock new features. You can also improve your Processor Units by finding and using items throughout the game. These upgrades will make your units both more powerful and change how they look.

Disc Make

This game features collectible Discs that reappear throughout the series. Attaching these Discs to your characters grants them different powers and skills.

With Disc Make, you create new Discs by starting with a blank one and adding a Core Idea. You can then improve the Disc by attaching Abilities, using up to 3 Sub Ideas to make the process simpler. Finally, you can Upgrade Discs to make them even more powerful.

Combo Customization

The game automatically chooses the best combo skills when you perform normal attacks. However, you can customize your combos to use your preferred skills, letting you fight with a style you enjoy.

Players can also customize shortcuts for their tactical skills and select which skills will activate through Tactical Links. As your character levels up, they’ll gain access to even more skills to choose from.

Color Edit

Feel free to customize the colors of your characters’ equipment to create the look you like best.

Accessories

You can customize accessories not only by moving them where you want, but also by changing their colors, sizes, and angles with precise control.

The accessories are purely cosmetic and won’t affect how well you perform in battle. We’ll also be adding more accessories through downloadable content.
