Be warned, this article contains spoilers for the season 1 finale of NCIS: Tony & Ziva! Cote de Pablo, who plays Ziva, has hinted at what’s coming in season 2, following a big reveal at the end of season 1. The first season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva concluded with Tony and Ziva reconnecting after successfully stopping Jonah, an Interpol agent who had been after Tony.
In an interview with Us Weekly, Cote de Pablo discussed what getting Tony and Ziva back together could mean for a second season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva. The actress, who plays Ziva, explained that the characters’ past experiences continue to affect their present. However, she believes that as long as they support each other, they can face any challenge that comes their way.
They’re constantly facing challenges from their past, which keeps pulling them back into difficult situations. They must always overcome these obstacles, and they can only do so by supporting and trusting one another.
According to De Pablo, Tony and Ziva still have a strong connection. If a second season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva were to happen, they’d be working on getting back together. However, rebuilding their relationship won’t be simple, as they were quite distant before the show began.

When this series started, it really showed us all the struggles Tony and Ziva faced in their relationship starting around 2020. But by the time the spinoff ended, it was amazing to see how close they’d become! A big part of that was definitely Jonah targeting their daughter, Tali – it forced them to really rely on each other and work as a team, and honestly, it brought them even closer than before.
Tony and Ziva, the main characters in NCIS, are back to how things used to be. After everything they’ve experienced – including Ziva’s supposed death and Tony raising a child on his own – they’re leaning on each other and appear ready to build a stable life together. This sense of stability extends to the entire NCIS series.
Although we don’t know what a second season of NCIS: Tony & Ziva might cover, Cote de Pablo has indicated there are many more stories to tell about Tony and Ziva. With their relationship in a good place and Tony’s reputation restored, they can now face any future challenges together.
Given the rich history of Tony and Ziva’s story, the show seems ready to build on what fans already love. While it’s unclear exactly how future episodes will unfold, there’s a lot of potential for new storylines, particularly as their relationship develops.
