NBC Scraps ‘Law & Order: SVU’ Episode Amid Timothy Busfield Allegations

I just heard that NBC won’t be airing the next episode of Law & Order: SVU that includes Timothy Busfield. This is because he’s facing serious allegations of child sexual abuse, and they’ve decided not to broadcast the episode with him in it.

The episode titled “Corrosive” featured a judge, Busfield, recovering after someone tried to harm him. It was initially supposed to air on January 15th, but instead, the episode originally planned for January 22nd will now be shown first.

NBC recently changed its schedule shortly after authorities in New Mexico issued an arrest warrant for director Busfield. The warrant details accusations that the 68-year-old, known for his work on The West Wing, inappropriately touched two young twin boys while directing episodes of the Fox series The Cleaning Lady between 2022 and 2024. The alleged incidents include improper touching and tickling of the boys, as well as touching their private areas.

On November 3, 2025, Busfield was questioned by a police officer about the accusations and the rules for interacting with child actors on set. According to a search warrant obtained by Variety, Busfield admitted it was probable he had touched the young actors while working, but he didn’t recall lifting them or playfully tickling them.
