“In October, Edwards’ Three Fifths Media teamed up with Brent Montgomery’s Wheelhouse. Together, they are producing ‘Year Five’. This production will be handled by Wheelhouse Sports, a new section of Wheelhouse, and Portal A, a company known for creating branded and original digital content. Interestingly, Portal A has previously worked on digital series for athletes such as Stephen Curry, Carmelo Anthony, Adam Rippon, and Odell Beckham Jr.

The upcoming season of ‘Year Five’ will consist of five installments, each running approximately 15-20 minutes long. This series focuses on Edwards during his current NBA season with the Timberwolves. The show delves into Edwards’ game from the NBA All-Star Weekend right up to the NBA Playoffs. As per the series synopsis, viewers will gain unique access to ‘year five’, witnessing its highs, lows, and everything in between. Keeping pace with its subject, the docuseries plans to release new episodes as events transpire, sometimes even just days after filming. The series will include exclusive interviews with Edwards, as well as insights and commentary from those within his inner circle, teammates, and others.

starting from next Tuesday, February 11th, you’ll find Episode 1 on Edwards’ YouTube channel, plus extra content on both his Instagram and TikTok profiles. The premiere episode will delve into the aftermath of Edwards’ former teammate, Karl-Anthony Towns, leaving the team.

I can’t wait for everyone to catch a glimpse of what we’ve been working on behind the scenes! It feels like you’re right in the thick of things, almost as if you were part of the game itself.” (Edwards’ statement)

Brent Montgomery, Stan Kaufman, Justin Holland, and Nate Houghteling serve as executive producers for the project. Notably, Houghteling, co-founder of Portal A, teams up with Tre McCain to take on the role of co-directors.

Anthony Edwards stands out among all athletes as one of the most engaging due to his genuine nature in every circumstance,” Houghteling noted. In producing ‘Year Five,’ our goal was to allow Ant to simply be himself and provide him with an exceptional opportunity to interact directly with his supporters.

Stan Kaufman, Vice President of Wheelhouse Sports, commented: “Anthony Edwards embodies the next phase of sports narration—confident, genuine, and commanding his own tale. ‘Year Five’ is merely the foundation of what we’re creating together at Wheelhouse Sports. This series isn’t solely about basketball; it’s about immersing fans in Ant’s real-life experiences in the present moment. We are delighted to collaborate with him, Three Fifths, and Portal A to bring this unique partnership to fruition.

In Holland’s role as the leader of Three Fifths Media, he also manages Edwards’ business affairs. He expressed, “Fans will have an opportunity to walk a mile in Anthony’s sneakers, gaining an immersive and unique perspective on his NBA season’s journey.
