As a die-hard fan of Naughty Dog and a connoisseur of sci-fi action-adventure games, I am beyond thrilled about Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet! With Neil Druckmann at the helm, this game promises to be an exhilarating ride that seamlessly blends the best elements of anime classics like Akira and Cowboy Bebop with Naughty Dog’s signature storytelling.

During The Game Awards, Naughty Dog unveiled Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet – a brand new title from the studio, set in an alternate universe with sophisticated space travel (currently under development by 1986). A brief clip of gameplay was shown in the trailer where the main character engages in combat with a massive cyborg, armed with futuristic-style swords. This is the first original narrative for director Neil Druckmann and his team in nearly 15 years, but it draws inspiration from timeless anime series like Akira and Cowboy Bebop.

As I converse with The New York Times regarding our upcoming project, I’m reluctant to spill too many beans, but allow me to shed some light on the essence of Intergalactic. This story is what stirs my soul, and at long last, I am eager to draw back the veil, offering you a glimpse into this game that has captivated my imagination.

Druckmann stated that the tale carries a significant scope, focusing on exploring the consequences of trusting various establishments.

In December, Druckmann hinted that Naughty Dog has a new major game series in the works, while also acknowledging that fans are eagerly awaiting The Last of Us Part III.

At one point, Druckmann mentioned that fans are constantly expressing their desire for The Last of Us: Part III, to which he replied, “We’re currently working on a different project now; the choice regarding this project has already been made. Unfortunately, I can’t reveal what it is.

For the main character in this sci-fi game, Druckmann selected Tati Gabrielle, who played the villain in the Uncharted movie and starred in Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Alongside her as one of her targets, they chose Kumail Nanjiani to play Colin Graves. Additionally, Gabrielle will appear in The Last of Us Season 2, portraying Nora, a comrade of Abby’s within the WLF group.

druckmann remarked that she exudes a powerful, awe-inspiring demeanor. Upon her audition, she left us speechless. It was a remarkable experience – much like the moment I initially witnessed Ashley Johnson embodying Ellie.

The trailer for “Intergalactic” didn’t disclose a launch date yet, but Druckmann hinted that it represents a return to Naughty Dog’s original territory within the action-adventure genre. Over the past four years, over 250 employees at Naughty Dog have been involved in creating “Intergalactic”, along with artists from outside Druckmann’s professional circle.
