The rising comedian, who’s recently gained popularity with two stints hosting “Saturday Night Live,” will make his debut in the Super Bowl ad lineup as a newcomer. His first commercial, for DoorDash, is expected to impress viewers. A sneak peek of the sports event was released on Monday.
During Fox’s broadcast of Super Bowl LIX this Sunday, a 30-second advertisement will showcase DashPass, a membership program introduced by DoorDash in 2018. This program allows users to save money on their orders, and the authenticity of the spokesperson, Bargatze, is reinforced as he is also a DoorDash customer himself.
Bargatze admits to frequently relying on DoorDash. He confessed to using it just the other night during a recent interview with EbMaster. However, he’s currently staying in a hotel and not utilizing it, but plans to resume its use once he’s back.
DoorDash is leveraging the rising fame of Bargatze, which could prove beneficial for them. Moreover, during Super Bowl LIX, advertisements for Uber Eats and Instacart will air, positioning these companies in an uncommon three-way competition within the same occasion.
The firm considers Bargatze’s link to their Big Game presentation as genuine, while the comedian claims he was asked to star in a Super Bowl commercial following his roast of DoorDash during a recent “Saturday Night Live” monologue.
