I’m really excited! Equalizer just put up a Steam page for their new RPG, Mythic Yi! We don’t have a release date yet, but just seeing the page is awesome and I can’t wait to learn more.
A new trailer for the game is now available on YouTube. The developers, a Chinese studio, have described the game’s unique visual style as “HD-2D,” which combines 2D characters with 3D environments. The trailer highlights that the game draws inspiration from Octopath Traveler.
The studio also revealed they used AI to create some of the images featured on their Steam page, which they then edited. It’s currently unclear if the finished game will include assets created with AI as well.
The official trailer and details for Mythic Yi are available below. The game will support Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese (both European and Brazilian), Russian, Japanese, and Korean languages.

Game Introduction
Mythic Yi is a classic-style RPG with pixel art, taking place in a legendary time when the world was ravaged by ten suns and filled with chaos. You play as Yi, embarking on an epic quest with allies to defeat six powerful monsters and protect humankind, using the legendary Heaven-Shaking Bow and Cloud-Piercing Arrows.
This isn’t the familiar myth you remember. Instead of a simple story, you’ll find: ten suns causing chaos – and hiding a secret; Chang’e’s journey to the moon as a painful goodbye that affects both gods and humans; and Jingwei’s endless task of filling the sea, perhaps driven by ancient sorrow. When the world falls apart, you’ll determine how this myth ends – or create a new one entirely.

Pixelated Epic boasts beautifully detailed retro graphics. From desolate wastelands to heavenly realms and lush forests, each scene feels like an ancient, hand-drawn painting come to life.
