I was so bummed when WB Games shut down MultiVersus earlier this year – it was a really fun game! But here’s some good news: two of the directors who worked on MultiVersus are starting their own studio called Airlock Games. They’re doing it all themselves, which is awesome and a little scary, but I’m really excited to see what they come up with next!
Justin Fischer and Brock Feldman, who previously worked on games like Disney Infinity and Medal of Honor, have started a new game studio called Airlock Games. Instead of creating large, complex games, they’re planning to develop smaller games at a faster pace.
After years of working on big-budget, well-known games, we realized we missed the freedom and creativity that comes with smaller, more focused projects,” the team explained. “This allows us to create new experiences that we’re passionate about, both as players and developers. We’re thrilled to have the opportunity to experiment, try new things, and tell stories that wouldn’t be possible with larger-scale games.
So, I just heard about this new game from Airlock Games, called What the Stars Forgot. It’s a management sim, but with a horror twist, and get this – it’s all done in a cool, retro 16-bit style. I’m already intrigued!
A project is currently seeking $25,000 in funding through Kickstarter. As of today, they’ve raised almost $8,000 and the campaign runs until November 27th.
What the Stars Forgot will be available in early access on Steam later this year.
